Description
This tour is all about exploring Graffiti and Street Culture & the impact it has had on the culture and development of this emerging Precinct in the inner City! We meet at LOCO Mexican restaurant where we provide a brief history of the development of Braamfontein since 1853 to provide context for the rest of the walk! As we walk through the streets exploring the Graffiti and Street Art, we make a few stops at cool spaces that have influenced the street culture in Braamfontein and the City over the years i.e. a design store showcasing local street wear brands, a Pan African Book Store, the ONLY specialist Graffiti Store in the City, a Coffee Shop and a visit to the iconic 'S.W.A.N.K Jozi' street wear store! Braamfontein consistently goes through transformations as it evolves to meet the tastes of its residents and people - this is no different to the City of Johannesburg itself i.e. a City constantly in flux as it tries to find its own identity! Book this tour and come learn more about Graffiti and Street Culture and why it plays an important role in defining what Braamfontein means to the City! NB! At the local Graffiti Store, you may get the chance to meet some of the local Graffiti Artists whose tags are found across the City as this is where a lot of them come to get their supplies!Includes
