We pick you up from your hotel or guest house and enter Soweto through Diepkloof Extension and stop at the welcome to Soweto signage to take pictures and to learn about the demographics, history behind the establishment of Soweto. The tour proceed,we pass Diepkloof hostels and family units,to view and to learn about the housing project initiated by former President Nelson Mandela. We pass Chris Hani Baragwath hospital on our way to Orlando towers. We stop to share information and to take pictures. We pass Johannesburg University Soweto campus,Rea Vaya bus in transit station on our way to Hector Pieterson memorial named after a 13 year old boy who was brutally murdered during Soweto students uprising in 1976.(Entrance to the museums not included on the price)Optional). Hector Pieterson museum is closed on Mondays. We proceed to the Popular attraction Vilakazi street,where Mandela museum house is situated. Vilakazi street has a Historical significance; the houses of the two Nobel Prize winners,late President Mandela and late Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu are situated in this street. We give you time to explore the house.(Entrance fee not include) You do the tour of Mandela museum house to learn about the life of this world icon before his life imprisonment. Hawkers at Hector Pieterson Memorial and in Vilakazi street are selling artifacts, curios and clothing; we give you time to browse the flea market and the curio shop incase there is a need. Lunch is optional. You can taste South African cuisine buffet lunch at Sakhumzi restaurant situated close to Mandela house or have light lunch at the local restaurant. We drop you off at your hotel at the end of the tour.
